Angel Irizarry

Angel Irizarry is a music composer with a wide range of styles in his works. Featuring films such as "The Exchange" directed by Diego Contreras, "A Tiempo" produced by Lala Films, "Homage" directed by Brandon Lampley, "El Nuevo Diario-40 Years of Celebration" commissioned for a Dominican newspaper, "Cornuts" directed by Per Idelfons Vilanova, and the podcast "Women in the Wild" conducted by Bianca Ramirez.

At the moment, Angel is preparing to release more Jazz/Fusion and Hybrid Orchestra productions as part of his personal projects and production catalogs.


A native of Santo Domingo, D.R. Angel grew up listening and watching as much as he could, from jazz to latin, from rock to classical music, from urban to blues. Later, sharing so many ideas, studying at the National Conservatory of Santo Domingo, where he studied with Jaques Martinez, Javier Vargas and Antonio Brito, graduating as a guitar Guitar Performer in 2014. Then pursuing his Jazz Composition degree at Berklee College of Music, studying with Bob Pilkington, Greg Hopkins and Scott Free and graduating in 2020.  At Berklee he met the composer Ana Ortiz Wienken (wife), who showed him the realm of music production for films. Now they work together in many productions and educational projects. 


As a musician and producer, Angel has performed in various cities like Las Vegas, NYC, Boston, Lawrence, Santo Domingo, Puerto Plata as a solo artist and alongside with artist like Sofia Carson, Danny Rivera, Miguel Bosé, La Marimba, NIKÓLA, Letón Pé, Irizarry & Roots, D.R. Big Band, Urbanova, José Antonio Rodríguez and many more. Most recently has been performing with his jazz project at many venues in Santo Domingo, DR, including  the 2022 Santo Domingo Jazz Fest at the legendary venue Casa de Teatro.  


Angel is currently teaching the "Music and Sound Fundamentals" course at ITLA (Technological Institute of The Americas) for the Video Game Programming and Design Department.
